Equity in Scientific Representation

GVF believes that effective conservation practices and policies must include the perspectives and worldviews of stakeholders from the very areas the global community seeks to protect. To this end, we are committed to improving international representation of researchers from low-middle income countries engaged in conservation research in regions of the earth where there is a high concentration of native species under threat of extinction due to habitat loss (i.e., biodiversity hotspots).

    Conference Participation

GVF provides travel support for researchers and university students from low-middle income countries in biodiversity hotspots to present their research at international conservation conferences which emphasize the sharing of information and ideas to foster future collaborations.

    Seat at the Table Grants

We support equitable access to global initiatives for researchers and university students from low-middle income countries through funding travel to participate in international institutes and other organized events that are specific to conservation policy development.

    Mentorship

GVF sees mentorship as an essential component in achieving equity in conservation science and biodiversity stewardship. We support cost-sharing for mentors to accompany university students and early researchers participating in global international events.
